been mucking around a bit with flash on the psp, lotsa PITA limitations, eg i just finished writing an app that displays various paintings + will let u zoom in + move around them. came to about 1mb, + that was still yo much memory for the psp, ive had to shrink the images down to just fitting on the screen

another psp flash limitation, ive written a text viewer, which lets u slowly scroll through the text, only to find the psp hasnt got the horsepower to do it smoothly, im gonna just be limited to scrolling at a page at a time (all extra work for nothing)

im gonna cut my coffee consumption down to 1liter a day, i remember i cut down to 2-3 liters a day a couple of years ago (which lasted for about 2 weeks), so its gonna be difficult.

One of the things that pisses me off the most with flash, is sometimes things dont work like they should due to no fault of my own, which wastes time cause u try to track down a non existant bug. Often u can fix these 'errors' by, 'doing nothing' eg deleting something on the flash stage area + then pressing ctrl-z to restore it (ie so in effect youve done nothing) but then the thing works. With c/c++ (which ive worked with 20 years now) such things were rare, though i have seen the following
int i = 1234;
cout << i << endl; // answer = 3676349 ( or something )
( rebooting the computer + rerunning normally fixes stuff like this though )
Actually the more i use flash the more i see its definitly not ideal for games, eg the concept of a stage works for presentations or animations but not for games/apps. Though macromedia cant be blamed for this as it wasnt originally designed for games/apps, but it is carrying around a lot of deadweight cause of this.

I cant see the big deal with this anti-smacking bill, personally i dont give a shit, one thing though that pisses me off is when ppl say someit along the lines 'i was smacked as a child + i turned out ok', well my reply is 'you shouldnt of been smacked as a kid, u should of been shot, as u obviously arent to fucken intelligent'

i often see posts about c# or java being a lot easier than c/c++ to develop in, often these ppl will mention that c#/java are also nearly as fast as c/c++ (some zealots will even claim its faster :) ) now c#/java have been around for a few years now and are reasonable mature. thus we have a language (that is faster to develop with + just as powerful). Yet theres noone making games for it. OUCH houston we have a logic problem. ie the whole argument that c#/java supporters is not borne out by the evidence/facts. i suppose ppl could argue that the ps3/wii dont support c#/java. but even the companies like MS (who are pushing others to use c#, dont use it ) btw some managed games Am I a c/c++ supporter? not really, i think theres a lot wrong with the language
